2016 Flying Companion Course students working on the flight simulators.

On Saturday, August 20th, the Alabama 99s held their first Flying Companion course at North Alabama Aviation on Pryor Field. The course covered basic aerodynamics, parts of the aircraft, basic flight maneuvers, the instrument panel, communications, navigation, and emergencies. We had 8 students who range from student pilots to flying companions to one that had never flown in a GA airplane but was very interested. The students had a chance to fly computer simulators and work the radio on the simulator. The course raised $240 for our Minnie Wade Scholarship. After the course, we had two students that where planning on flying with an instructor to get more training.
