The Alabama Chapter Chair Ramona Banks went on vacation to Oregon and had the chance to celebrate Amelia Earhart’s birthday with the Oregon Pines 99s and the Columbia Cascade 99s.
The joint chapter event started with a brunch at the Albany Airport (S12), then the event transitioned to the Albany Museum where Amelia (aka Debra Plymate) told a little about herself, and a presentation about a past Oregon 99 member Evelyn Burleson was given by a local aviation historian.
The event finished up with a tour of the Historic Carousel & Museum in Albany to see how they were restoring and carving new animals for the carousel.
